The Mont Mary Nappe is a Salassic tectonic unit constituted by two crystalline basement units: a Lower Unit mainly comprising pre-Alpine amphibolite-facies paragneisses with minor amphibolites and orthogneisses and an Upper Unit comprising pre-Alpine amphibolite- to granulite-facies paragneisses with mafic and carbonate rocks.

The Etirol-Levaz Slice is an Upper Penninic tectonic unit situated between the Zermatt-Saas Fee Nappe and the Tsaté Nappe. It comprises eclogitic micaschists similar to that of the structurally higher Dent Blanche and Sesia nappes. It is likely derived from extensional allochthons, formed during the Jurassic opening of the Piemonte-Liguria Ocean in a more distal position than the Cervinia Terrane from which the Salassic nappes originate.

The Plammis Nappe is a Lower Helvetic tectonic nappe of the Western Swiss Alps, constituted by a Jurassic sedimentary series interpreted as the detached part of the autochthonous cover of the Internal Aar Massif (Baldschieder-Gletsch Submassif). On the slopes between Sierre and Gampel, the Plammis Nappe overlies the autochthonous cover of the External Aar Massif and the Doldenhorn Nappe. It is itself overlain by the Jägerchrüz Nappe.
