Stark isoklinal verfaltete, mittelpenninische Gneismasse, die durch die Simplon-Störung von den Rest des Grand-St-Bernhard-Deckenkomplexes getrennt ist.
Complexe très replissé de micaschistes à grenat, amphibolites et gneiss à hornblende.

p.64: The Berisal Nappe is lithologically similar to the Upper Stalden Nappe: for this reason it is interpreted as the continuation of this unit to the east, in the footwall of the Rhône-Simplon Fault. It occupies the core of the large synformal Berisal Backfold.
