The Neogene Randen Fault, with a maximum vertical offset of about 250 m, forms - together with the Schiener Berg Fault - the southwestern limit of the central part of the Hegau-Bodensee Graben.
The term “Middle Austroalpine” used by Tollmann (1977), embracing many of the Upper Austroalpine units, was abandoned by more recent studies and is not used any more in Switzerland.

The N–S trending Lugano Fault represents the southern segment of the Lugano-Monte Grona-Val Grande Fault System. It extends at least from Mendrisio northwards to northeast of Lugano

The Lecco Fault is a NW–SE trending structure separating the sediments of the former Generoso Basin from the Upper Orobic Nappe of the Bergamasc Alps. It is probably a reactivated Mesozoic fault.
