S.16: Innerhalb der Chiasso-Formation treten lokal Konglomerate auf, die Longo (1968) bei Como (Villa Olmo) als «Konglomerate von Villa Olmo» ausgeschieden hat. Konglomeratische Schichten in ähnlicher Stellung fanden wir bei Bernate und in einem Bachaufschluss südlich von Ponte Chiasso. Bei Bernate handelt es sich um eine bis 7m mächtige, kanalisierte Schicht. Sie besteht an der Basis aus «matrix-supported» Konglomeraten und im oberen Teil aus «pebbly sandstones» und Sandsteinen. Bei Ponte Chiasso ist eine 1m mächtige Konglomeratlage in die Pelite eingelagert. Die Gerölle bilden ein Festgerüst und zeigen unten inverse, oben normale Gradierung (Fig. 7).
