Berger Alfons, Mercolli Ivan, Herwegh Marco, Gnos Edwin (2017) : Geological Map of the Aar Massif, Tavetsch and Gotthard Nappes. Geological Special Map 1:100'000, Explanatory Notes 129

p.53: Sedimentary rocks of the parautochthonous and autochthonous cover exhibiting diagenetic to very low-grade Alpine metamorphic overprint discordantly overlie the entire polycyclic metamorphic basement of the Aar Massif (PFIFFNER 2011). Part of the Mesozoic and Cenozoic autochthonous cover of the Aar Massif was tectonically detached from its substrate. The detached units now form a group of nappes or tectonic slices containing incomplete sequences of the same stratigraphic units as found in the autochthonous cover and are therefore here described together. The parautochthonous units represented in the map area comprise the Doldenhorn Nappe, the Färnigen Zone and the Furtwangsattel Zone. All parautochthonous units are characterised by an incomplete stratigraphic sequence showing variably preserved lithostratigraphic units.
