Die Klauser Schichten bestehen aus einem geringmächtigen (wenige dm- bis 1m, max 5-7m), grobkörnigen (0,3-10mm) Glaukonitsandstein, der zahlreiche Komponenten (mm-dm) aus einem Biodetritus-Kalk vom Typus Brisi-Kalk führt.
