Definition
Berger Alfons, Mercolli Ivan, Herwegh Marco, Gnos Edwin (2017) : Geological Map of the Aar Massif, Tavetsch and Gotthard Nappes. Geological Special Map 1:100'000, Explanatory Notes 129

p.59: Intensely deformed rocks are encountered along the southeastern border of the Ausserberg-Avat Zone between the Oberalppass and Disentis. This strongly deformed belt marks the boundary between the Aar Massif and the Tavetsch Nappe (NIGGLI 1944, HUBER 1948, LEU & WYSS 1992). Following NIGGLI (1944) and HUBER (1948) the Clavaniev Zone is considered as a part of the Aar Massif.
