p.83: This granite intrudes the surrounding migmatitic and metasedimentary gneisses of the Ausserberg-Avat Zone at the southern border of the Aar Massif (Niggli 1965). Niggli (1965) interpreted the syenitic rocks as cumulates or as relics of an earlier intrusion. The intrusive relationships with the rocks of the Ausserberg-Avat Zone suggest a Variscan age and its alkaline composition an affinity to the plutonic rocks of the Rötifirn Group. Intense deformation of unknown age overprints the Engi Granite.
