Geological Map of the Aar Massif, Tavetsch and Gotthard Nappes. Geological Special Map 1:100'000, Explanatory Notes 129
p.78: The Piora-Peiden Zone includes a number of different tectonic slices, which are not differentiated on the present map sheet (FREY 1967, VÖGELI et al. 2013). The local names of these slices are reported in VÖGELI et al.(2013 and references therein). The Piora-Peiden Zone is characterised by incomplete sequences of Triassic and Early Jurassic metasedimentary rocks. One significant difference with respect to adjacent Mesozoic units is the more dominant Late Triassic Quarten Formation. The Early Jurassic units are equivalent to those of the Scopi Zone (see above), comprising tectonically reduced parts of the Stgir and Inferno Formation.
