Le Flysch du Chesselbach (fig. 8), constitué par une alternance de grès turbiditiques et de pélites, se trouve exclusivement à l'ouest de la Simme, où il repose en contact stratigraphique sur le Flysch de Seron. Ce contact n'affleure cependant que dans la coupe type. L'épaisseur observable de la formation dans le Chesselbach est de 200 m ; à l'ouest de ce secteur, les profils sont incomplets. Le chevauchement de la Zone Submédiane limite le Flysch du Chesselbach vers le haut.
