p.118: An Oligocene volcano-sedimentary series covers the most internal portion of the Sesia Nappe along the Canavese Fault in the Biella region. Its northern extremity is just visible at the southern edge of the map. These mostly calc-alkaline andesitic rocks (Callegari et al. 2004) were deposited onto an erosional surface of the Eclogitic Micaschist Unit of the Sesia Nappe 33–32 Ma ago (Kapferer et al. 2012).
