Definition
Berger Alfons, Mercolli Ivan, Herwegh Marco, Gnos Edwin (2017) : Geological Map of the Aar Massif, Tavetsch and Gotthard Nappes. Geological Special Map 1:100'000, Explanatory Notes 129

p.25: Meta-arkose and metapsammite grading locally into schist, two-mica gneiss and phyllite constitute the Sogn Placi Gneiss Complex. These rocks form a band with a thickness of a few hundred metres at the eastern end of the Ausserberg-Avat Zone. Layers of similar metasedimentary gneiss occur in the migmatitic gneiss of the Massa Gneiss Complex but are too thin to be shown on the present map scale.
