p.59: The Sarine Nappe (Saane-Decke in German) was not recognized as an independent nappe for a long time, because some of the lithologies strongly resemble those of the Dranses Nappe. However, the Sarine Nappe is characterized by two distinctive lithologies (Caron 1972, Bugnon 1995): 1) very fine-grained, lightcolored limestones with trace fossils (Chondrites isp.) and 2) polymict micaceous conglomerates, often containing various crystalline rocks. The age of these rocks is latest Cretaceous to earliest Paleocene.
