Ensemble complexe regroupant plusieurs nappes imbriquées d'origine interne mises en place précocement sur les Préalpes Médianes et la nappe de la Brèche avant d'être déformées avec ces dernières. Elles sont formées essentiellement de flysch variés d'âge essentiellement crétacé.

p.59: The “Upper Prealps” designate a flysch complex, which structurally tops both the Préalpes Médianes Nappe and the Breccia Nappe. The origin of the flysch complex is generally accepted to be the Piemonte-Liguria Ocean (Elter et al. 1966, Caron 1972, Caron et al. 1989 and ref. therein). Stratigraphic and structural arguments allow a subdivision of the complex into four nappes. These are from bottom to top: the Sarine Nappe, the Dranses Nappe, the Simme Nappe and the Gets Nappe.
