S.344: Der Gneis wird von einer höchstens 4 m mächtigen Schichte eines rotbraunen, einigermassen sandigen Gesteins überlagert, das Senn (Lit.26, S.454) als Verrucanokonglomerat beschreibt; ungefähr 30 m nördlich der Häuser von Poncia ist dieses Gestein am Weg aufgeschlossen. Unter dem Mikroskop erwies es sich als Tuffit, der hauptsächlich aus vulkanischem Material besteht, während die eckigen, stark ondulösen Quarze als Denudationsprodukte des Grundgebirges aufzufassen sind.
