p.32: La "Formation de Luchernalp" a été décrite par Gisiger (1967) dans une monographie régionale concernant la région Lac Noir - Kaiseregg - Schafberg pour désigner des dépôts localisés au synclinal des Rotenkasten - Schafberg; "sa position lithostratigraphique est entre les calcaires plaquetés et le "Complexe schisteux intermédiaire - Couches Rouges" (Gisiger 1967, p.325-328). Cet auteur définit la "Formation de Luchernalp" essentiellement selon des critères lithologiques, sans pouvoir donner de précisions biostratigraphiques. Celle-ci est constituée de "calcaires subordonnés à des schistes" et présente une extension restreinte.
