Der Forno-Metabasalt, ursprünglich ein MOR-Basalt, ist einer Varietät des Fedozer Metagabbros (Ferrogabbro) makroskopisch sehr ähnlich. Die beiden Metabasica können aber geochemisch mit Hilfe des Y-vs.-Zr-Diagramms unterschieden werden.
